The new world of Mr. Patrick Gordon Walker. Adviser to initial teaching alphabet foundation.: Mr. Patrick Gordon Walker - who was the Foreign Secretary for a few short months - until the Leyton by-election - was to bee seen yesterday at the Fitton Hill Infant's School Oldham, Lanos - a school, which started using the 44 letter alphabet three years ago. Mr. Gordon Walker's new job is that of adviser to the Initial Training Alphabet Foundation who are pioneering the new alphabet. Since then the alphabet has been introduced into 35 of the town's 37 infant schools and into 1,000 schools elsewhere in Britain. Photo shows at the school yesterday Wendy Cunningham sits on Mr. Walker's knee as she reads "Hear Wee Goe" (as the new alphabet spells it - while on right Geoffrey Pickstone reads extracts from "Janet and Jon". Wendy and Geoffrey are both aged 5.
