The Big Clash On the Nation's Economy Mr. Maudling Defense the Records of Defeated Administration; The first big political clash since the Election took place today when measures to deal with the insecurity of Britain's trading position were announced this morning by Mr. Brown an Mr. Callaghan for the new Government. This afternoon Mr. Maudling, former Chancellor of the Exchequer, defended the record of the defeated Administration, when he spoke at a press conference at the Conservative headquarters.
