1961 Press Photo Duke of Wellington

Sale of Old Masters At Sotheey's Goya Painting Fetches ~140,000; Important Old Masters were on sale yesterday at Sotheby's and among them was a portrait of the Duke of Wellinton by Goya, owned by the Duke of Leeds. The famous painting was knocked down for ~140,000 to Texan oil tycoon, Mr. Charles Wrightsman, who already owns paintings by Vermeer, El Greco and Tiepolo.
