They Risked death for freedom: Mrs. Anne Zemanek, 24, and her husband, Zdenek, 27, who risked death to make a 15-minute flight to freedom fro Czechoslovakia, pictured last night when they arrived in London. They had planned their escape for years after seeing political prisoners slaving in the uranium mines at jachymov, where they were school teachers. Both managed to get a transfer to he spa town of karlsbad - 15 minutes flying time from the west German border. There they joined a flying club and spent months awaiting their chance. At last one day zdenek landed from a flight, kept the engine running and took off as Anne scramble in.
