August 19th, 1970 Archaeological dig at Greenwich - An archaeological dig is taking place in the Grand Square at the Royal Naval College, Greenwich, London, which it is hoped, will uncover the waterfront of the fifteenth century palace in which Henry VIII and Queens Elizabeth and Mary were born. Keystone Photo Shows: Mr. Philip Dixon, an archaeologist from Oxford, seen looking at a 20th century flag pole base which they discovered during the digging.
