1970 Press Photo Det. Sgt. Roger street to testify on McKay murder

The McKay murder trial: Two detectives, one disguised as a member of the McKay family, the other as a chauffeur, spent three hours following the instructions of Mrs. Muriel McKay's kidnappers, an Old Bailey jury was told yesterday. Det.Sgt Roger Street said he dressed up as Mrs McKay's son, Ian, and Dep. Insp. John Minors was disguised as a chauffeur. They followed left a suitcase containing dummy money near two paper flower makers on a road side bank. Another officer, Det. Chief Insp. William O'Hara told the court that he and two other officers watched the spot but no one came to collect the suitcase. The officers were giving evidence in the third day of the trial in which Trinidad born brothers Arthur Hosein, 34, and Nizamodeen Hosein, 22, are accused of murdering Mrs. McKay, 55, of Arthur Road, Wimbledon. The other charges, including kidnapping and blackmail. They have pleaded not guilty to all the charges. Mrs. McKay's daughter, Mrs. Diane Dyer, told of envelopes arriving in the post addressed to Mr.McKay in her mother's handwriting. Photo shows yesterday's picture of Det,Sgt.Roger Street, who impersonated Mrs. McKay's son, Ian.
