James Mason as an Honest Teacher: Hollywood star James Mason does at present pose for an American colour television camera in Salzburg as the honest teacher Franz Xaver Gruber. He plays the roll of the teacher Gruber who has, together with the Oberndorf person Joseph Mohr, written the Christmas song "Stille Nacht, Heilige Nacht" (Silent Night, Holy Night) more than hundred years ago. Now does the ABC Television Production company shoot the story of this song. Regisseur is saniel Mann (The Little Tea House). The composer Joseph Mohr will be represented by the American John Leighton. Beside this were engaged the German actors Herbert Fux, Rudolf Rhomberg and Friedrich Graf Ledebur. The Americans will shoot in Salzburg till March 15th. The script was written by Christopher Isherwood. Photo shows James Mason as teacher Gruber in the church of Arnsdorf.
