A.E. Matthews as umpire in Whisky - pouring contest and the drops off .: Eighty nine year old actor A.E. Matthews this afternoon took on the role of Umpire at Britain's first Scotch pouring contest " held at Londond~rry house. Competing were Britain's top bartenders. The competitors used "shot glasses" which have a white line painted around them - and they have to pour whisky exactly up to the line - without using a measure. Photo shows with his pet poodle - who looks as if is gasping for a drink, on his lap - A.E. Matthews has a short cat - nap between events during the contest this afternoon.
