Third baseman Tom Hafey, up from Jersey City, celebrating his joining the Giants today by coming home with a homer in sixth inning. First baseman Zeke Bonur (5) and Shortstop Frank Scalzi (1), up from New Orleans today himself, greeted Hafey. But Hafey's homer went for naught as Pirates took the battle, 4-3.
