1964 Press Photo Satellites-Anti Satellite Vehicle Concept explored by Scientist

This is a conceptual drawing of a piggyback anti-satellite vehicle lifting away from its supersonic transport (bottom vehicle), which has carries it to launch altitude. Ideas such as this are being explored by scientists at North American Aviation, Inc. in Los Angeles to devise countermeasures against what may be the next generation of space weapons: nuclear, bombardment, satellites.
