Pete Elliott, University of California head football coach, charged today that University of Southern California guard Mike McKeever deliberately fouled Steve Bates, Cal Halfback, in Saturday's game. Bates, injured on the play, was hospitalized. McKeever and USC officials deny the charge. USC won the game.
