1962 Press Photo An object found near Seattle believed to be part of a satellite

This is a picture of an 18 inch long object believed to be of some kind of ceramic material, which was found on a country road near Seattle about two weeks ago, Paine Air Force Base officials announced today. An Air Force spokesman said " we have no idea at all as to its significance or source. The object has been sent to Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, Dayton, Ohio to determine if it might be part of a satellite.
