The Navy released this drawing in Washington today after a Vanguard rocket fired at Cape Canaveral, Fla., put another US satellite in orbit. The new satellite weighs a little more than three pounds and is 6.4 inches in diameter. It has two radios inside, one powered by batteries and one by solar cells. There are six radio antennas sticking out like toothpicks.

Photo measures 8 x 10.25 inches.

Photo is dated 03-17-1958.
