Description
John Mengel, Chief of the Guiding & Tracking Division of the US Naval Research Laboratory, inspects one of the six hastily built antennae being used at the Minitrack Test Facility in Blossom Point to track Soviet artificial moon. This device, in its operating position flat on the ground has a spread of approximately 30 feet to pickup the 20 megacycle signals and transmit them to a graph machine which records the flight of the missile.
