1971 Press Photo Former American soldiers in Cat Lai, constructing homes Vietnam

Nine Americans, all former GIs, work constructing homes for South Vietnamese Navy veterans in a construction project at Cat Lai, 15 miles east of Saigon. The men, some hawks and some doves on the war issue, have gone back to South Vietnam to do manual labor without pay in a gesture of goodwill.
