1961 Press Photo Remains of Port O'Connor after devastation by Hurricane Carla

Description
Gigantic tides swept through Port O'Connor during the height of Hurricane Carla. The storm destroyed 99 percent of the 950 population fishing town. Huge cranes and tractors were nearly buried by shifting sands along the water front.
