Hearing the sound of his music in his head, "I just sit down and write," says songwriter Jule Styne, photographed recently in New York City. He doesn't use the piano to compose - although he started his long career in music as a child prodigy playing the piano with the Chicago Symphony at the age of 9. Now he's 74, has had over 1,000 tunes, 300 of them standards, published, and he's writing the tunes for a new musical, "One Night Stand," due to go into rehearsal next September.
