Description
Dr. Richard Stuckey, paleontologist at the Denver Museum of Natural History, holds the lower hind leg bone of a Stegosaurus that was found in the Morrison Formation located west of Denver near the tiny foothills town of Morrison. The formation has given researchers a closer look at the animals and the climate along Colorado's Front Range - 140 million years ago.
