1980 Press Photo Lawrence K. Roos, President, Federal Reserve Bank, St. Louis.

Every photo in our collection is an original vintage print from a newspaper or news service archive, not a digital image. Please see our FAQ for more information.

Description
Lawrence K. Roos, president of the Federal Reserve Bank in St. Louis, photographed in New York City, believes he knows the cause of and the cure for inflation. The main cause, he is convinced, is the creation of too much money by the Federal Reserve Board. That belief allies him with the "monetarists," the loose grouping of economists which is firmly opposed by the equally confident group of non-monetarists.

Photo measures 8 x 10.5 inches.

Photo is dated 2-8-1980.
