1975 Press Photo Margaret Chase Smith-A Declaration of Conscience author

In the library of her home in Skowhegan, Me., former Republican senator Margaret Chase Smith leafs through a copy of her book, A Declaration of Conscience. In her garage are stored 40 bound volumes of her records, including all the speeches of her long years in politics. When these are catalogued and enough money raised, the house, now the Margaret Chase Smith Library will be ope to the public.
