Description
A 1.6 liter turbocharged, electronically fuel-injected four-cylinder engine among the most powerful and efficient small engines ever built in America - will be available on the EXP and later in the year on the Ford Escort. The silhouette on the EXP (top) has been altered dramatically by the addition of a "bubbleback" liftgate and the car has an all-new instrument panel and interior trim. Escort (bottom, wagon version) is America's best-selling car and the best-selling nameplate in the world. New for 1984 is an optional 2.0 liter diesel engine with manual five-speed overdrive transmission. It has an EPA fuel economy of 46 miles to the gallon in the city and 68 on the highway.
