The Honda CRX (top) was selected as the 1984 Motor Trend Car of the Year. The Prelude (middle) and Civic Hatchback (bottom) were first and second runner-up respectively. This marked the first time in Motor Trend's 35 year history that one automobile manufacturer captured the top three spots in the annual balloting.
