Tennaged sweethearts Katie (Jennifer Dundas), the anchor for her high school TV news team, and Wayne (Jim O'Connor) are stunned to learn that they are vulnerable to the AIDS virus, on the "ABC Afterschool Specials" drama, "In the Shadow of Love: A Teen AIDS Story", presented in collaboration with the Public Broadcasting Service. The drama airs on PBS, Wednesday, Sept. 18 (8:00-9:00 pm, ET) and on the ABC Television Network, Thursday, Sept. 19. (4:00-5:00 pm, ET). Tony Award-winning playwright/actor Harvey Fierstein is featured as a counselor in the drama about the increasing spread of AIDS among teenagers.
