1961 Press Photo Night turned to day after the atomic test blast from Yucca Flat

This picture, made 30 miles away from the blast point at 5 o'clock in the morning, was made entirely with light from an atomic test blast at Yucca Flat, Nev. The photographer tripped his shutter just as the blast turned night into momentary day. Photo shows an army encampment of army troops taking part in Dessert Rock VI exercise.
