1934 Press Photo J. Rockefeller in a right handed-drive car with acetylene lamps

Description
The top picture was taken over 25 years ago, in the days of right handed-drive cars with acetylene lamps. Yet even the John D. Rockefeller looked like an old man. As a matter of fact he had retired from active business along before that - in 1896, when J.P. Morgan the elder was not yet at the peak of his career, and almost unknown outside Wall Street, and Carnegie's star was still rising. Rockefeller retired on account of ill-health. Yet he was destined to survive all these other men by a wide margin, living on into the days of the streamlined sedan and the New Deal.

Photo measures 8 x 6 inches.

Photo is dated 3-9-1934.
