1968 Press Photo Cleveland Indian pitcher Sam McDowell hurt after car accident

Cleveland Indian pitcher Sam McDowell required seven stitches below hisleft eye and three stitches below his left eye and three stitches in the left temple after he was hurt in a car accident Sunday morning. McDowell was treated and released from St Mary's hospital. Team physician Dr. Vic Ippolito said McDowell would resume training Tuesday.
