1964 Press Photo Cleveland Manager Birdie Tebbetts suffers heart attack

Cleveland Manager Birdie Tebbetts held his first press conference today since being stricken with a heart attack on April 1. He leaves for the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minn, tomorrow. Tebbets was dressed down in weight into the conference room at St Mary's Hospital. Tebbetts disagrees with the doctors who say he will not return to duty this year. He said he expects to be back with the Tribe before summer's training.
