1947 Press Photo Glenn Davis denied permission to resign from the Army

Glenn Davis, former All-America halfback who was denied permission to resign from the Army by the War Department today, polishes up his uniform as he prepares to return to his post at Fort Riley, Kas., where he is a second lieutenant. Davis, who is spending the holidays at the home of his parents here, wanted to leave the Army in order to play professional football.
