Art Shires, former major league first baseman, poses in his home here tonight after he was charged with murder earlier in the day in the death of W.H. Erwin, former professional baseball player. Officers quoted Shires as saying he had a fight with Erwin October 3. The murder charge, filed in the court of justice of the peace W.L. Sterrett, charged murder with malice aforethought.
