St. Louis Cardinals manager Red Schoendienst tells reporters Wednesday how he intends to play Richie Allen, Philadelphia Phillies power hitter traded to the Cards in a multiplayer swap. The Red Birds also obtained pitcher Jerry Johnson and Infielder Cookie Rojas in return for outfielders Curt Flood, Byron Browne, catcher Tim McCarver and relief pitcher Joe Hoerner. The trade was announced at a press conference by Schoendienst and general manager Bing Devine.
