1939 Press Photo Lorenzo Murias Adopted by Mrs. Franklin D. Roosevelt

Mrs. Franklin D. Roosevelt today adopted Lorenzo Murias (above), 12-year-old Spanish war orphan. As he foster mother, the first lady will send $9 a month to help maintain him in a children's colony near Biarritz, France.
