It was also the first undisputed Northeastern Conference title for Ashtabula. They were tri champs two years ago and last season shared the crown with Riverside. Coach Tony Chiracchiero, in his 5th year directing the grid fortunes of his alma matter credited exceptional team speed and a tough defense that came up with the big play when it counted with keys to the team's success.
