The Mercury Capri sports an optional T-Roof that provides the open-air feel of a convertible. The roof features two removable tinted glass panels that fit into special pouches for storage. The inner edges of the glass panels incorporate a single handle-operated release system that permits fast, easy removal and secure, positive reassembly. To provide structural integrity and meet Federal standards, each T-Roof Capri includes a strong H-reinforcement in the roof. Lincoln-Mercury Division's Capri also offers another optional roof -- the moonroof -- that is available as part of a "free" option package for those purchasing the 1981 Capri Special Value vehicle.
