Q. I said that during the war years Les Fleming played the outfield with a first baseman's mitt. The other party said no. Who's rihgt?... Richard Meholick, 5829 Cable Avenue. A. In this case the other party is the right party. Fleming never worse a first baseman's mitt in the outfield. It's illegal to do so. Only the first baseman and catcher can wear such a mitt. There were times, however, when it appeared that Fleming could have used one out there.
