Howard K. Lynam of Lynam Insurance Agency was honored as Citizen of the Year by the Eastern Area Chamber of Commerce at its annual banquet. Presenting the award was Jessie Beavert. Lynam, a resident of Birmingham for 35 years, serves on the Birmingham Industrial Development Board, the Birmingham Pardon and Parole Board, the Birmingham East Rotary Club, the board of directors for the Alabama Industrial School for Boys, the Birmingham Transit Committee and other organizations. He and his wife Jane live with their two sons in Roebuck.
