H.R. McDaniel South Central Bell. South Central Bell Telephone Co. Used a wheelbarrow to pay its Madison County taxes thursday. The company delivered $741,211.57-in cash-to the Madison COunty tax collector in Huntsville. It was a payment for the company's 1976 ad valorem taxes, the largest single property tax payment ever received by Madison County. Deputy Sheriff Ike Hall, left, served as guard while South Central District Manager H.R. McDaniel watched Tax Collector Daisy Culps open the first bag of money.
