Montgomery, Alabama - Governor Fob James oversees city team in Forest Festival log-cutting contest. The city beat the state by a stroke, but politically hip C.W. Moody called the log-cutting contest a tie. Moody, the state forester, had legislation in mind as he served as a judge. Representing Montgomery was Mayor Emory Folmar. He and City Council president Willie Peak were o opposite ends of a five-foot crosscut saw.
