Vance, left, with the confirmation of his appointment to the Fifth US Circuit Court of Appeals and his recognition at the University of Montevallo for "distinguished public service." Vance received the President's Award honoring his contributions from UM President James F. Vickrey Jr., right, at the school's winter graduation ceremonies, where he was also the guest speaker.
