Thomas J. (Jeff) Davis. Director, ABC Board. Thomas J. (Jeff) Davis of Montgomery has been nominated by Governor George C. Wallace to succeed Henry Gray III as administrator of the Alabama Alcoholic Beverage Control Board. Gray was named by the governor to be adjutant general of the Alabama National Guard. Davis has served as an executive assistant to Wallace since June 1975, as chief of staff of the administrative force in the governor's office. A retired lieutenant colonel in the US Air Force, Davis is a native of Ozark and was graduated from Troy State University and the University of Florida with honors. In military service, he rose from the rank of private to lieutenant colonel.
