1970 Press Photo Flames destroyed the home of Mr. and Mrs. Walter Kimble

A mid-day blaze ravaged a Western area home Monday. Flames destroyed the home of Mr. and Mrs. Walter Kimble and their six children. Located at 1809 Henrietta Drive, Powderly, the structure was consumed before firemen from Brighton reached the scene. Neighbors said they reported the blaze to several nearby fire departments who refused the call before calling the Brighton unit. Cause of the blaze was undetermined. Fire Birmingham, Alabama
