Shelby County, Alabama - These officials, along with a crowd of parents, students ad church members, were on hand for the ground-breaking ceremony for the new Briarwood South expansion of briarwood Christian School and Presbyterian Church. From left to right are Joe Scotch, who donated a portion of the property in Shelby County; Bill Poole, architect for the project; Frank Barker, pastor of Briarwood; Carl Jernigan, chairman of the building committee, and Robert Mann, contractor for the job. The first building planned is an expansion of the school which will house grades 10 through 12.
