Penny White, a 17-year-old senior at John Carroll High School, was chosen Jefferson County's Junior Miss last weekend in competition at Birmingham-Southern College. She was one of 30 contestants in the annual event sponsored by the Birmingham Jaycees. As Jefferson County's Junior Miss she has received $2,800 in college scholarships. She will take part in the Alabama Junior Miss competition next month. Miss White is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Johnny White of Forest Park. Miss White sang "People" from the musical "Funny Girl" for her talent presentation (Birmingham, Alabama) (Pageants)
