Highway chic - These new lights will illuminate U.S. 31 in Hoover from the intersection at Lorna Road and Interstate 20 to Loehmann's Village. The 250 lights will be turned on in sections over two months, project engineer James Waters said, with the first section scheduled to be turned on in less than 10 days. The $1.2 million project also includes a new traffic-light system that will move traffic along 31 much more smoothly, city officials said. (City of Hoover, Alabama) (Street Lights)
