1981 Press Photo Water World, With Storage Tank in Background, Dothan, Alabama

Dothan, Alabama - It takes a lot of water to operate Water World, Dothan's beach-type playground, which is stored in a half-million gallon tank. The tank, in the background, was designed by Polyengineering, Inc. of Dothan and won "The Tank of the Year for 1980' award from the Steel Plate Fabricators Association. The light blue tinted tank is 100 feet tall. At the center it rests upon a 40-foot diameter fluted cylinder. Its outer edge is supported by 12 rounded columns.
