Alabama-Fires-Fairfield-Last moments for Fairfield school building- A fire which roared out of control for almost an hour Thursday afternoon destroyed the main building of the vacant E. J. Oliver High School in Fairfield. Firemen from Fairfield, Birmingham and U.S. Steel Corp. succeeded in preventing the blaze from spreading to nearby homes. Only the school's gym, housed in separate building, was still in use.
