Alabama-Greene County steam plant..Construction is progressing rapidly on the Greene County steam plant, being built by Alabama Power Company on the Warrior River in Greene County. The plant's first electric generating unit is scheduled to go into operation in 1965. The steam plant is designed so it can be expanded to an ultimate capacity of two million kilowatts. It will have two generating units initially with a capacity of 500,000 kilowatts.
