Description
Les Lawson, a workman for the Southern Pacific Railroad, puts the finishing touches on the seals of a tank car that was leaking chlorosulfuric acid last April. The white powder all over the valve is lime which was used to neutralize the acid so that work could be done to repair the car. Due to the potential danger of the gas from the acid, portions of Interstate 10 were closed for many hours.
