Residents of Woodford, England, were thanked in person by British Prime Minister Winston Churchill, who was re-elected to parliament in that constituency. He stood on the balcony of the home of Sir James Hawkey, chairman of the Woodford Conservative Association, to speak. Mrs. Churchill, right, watched her husband.
