1934 Press Photo Southern shore of Lake Winnebago, Wisconsin - mjx37351

Every photo in our collection is an original vintage print from a newspaper or news service archive, not a digital image. Please see our FAQ for more information.

Description
The southern shore of Lake Winnebago, largest body of fresh water within the boundaries of any single state, is a pleasant sight for the tourist who, on driving north through the Main Street of Fond du Lac, continues straight north instead of turning to the left with Highway 41 or to the right with Highway 55. There one finds a highly improved park area with facilities for picnicking, boating, parking, camping and fishing. There the new lighthouse is flanked on one side by a World war artillery trophy and on the other by a ship's anchor.

Photo is dated 1934.

Photo measures 8 x 10.25 inches.
