1946 Press Photo Milwaukee Mayor John L. Bohn and General Jonathan M. Wainwright

Description
Mayor Bohn presented the general with a wrist watch, the gift of Milwaukee's citizens. There was a second box, containing a compact, for Mrs. Wainwright, who was not there. A token of appreciation for his stubborn defense of Corregidor was presented to Gen. Jonathan M. Wainwright here in 1946 by Mayor John L. Bohn after the general had been released from a Japanese prison camp. The mayor, on behalf of Milwaukeeans, gave the general a watch and a compact for Mrs. Wainwright. The general died Wednesday in San Antonio, Tex. Dead. Wainwright.
